OPI Here today... Aragon tomorrow

There is nothing like a dark green nail polish, and OPI's Here today... Aragon tomorrow is probably one of the best ones out there next to NARS Zulu (which I, unfortunately do not own). This polish reminds me of a dark, swampy green, but in a good way. It's probably just a shade or two lighter from a pure black but green enough to make it edgy. My pictures didn't really capture the green undertone as well as I would have liked.

You would expect the formula to be a thick cream, but it's surprisingly runny and takes 3 coats to build opacity. Nonetheless, I think it's worth it; this is a classic OPI color for a reason !

Finger Paints Twisted over Wet n Wild Black Creme

I am not the biggest flakie fan, but when I first saw swatches of Finger Paints Twisted I knew I had to have it ! I love that they combined different colored flakies; it makes a really cool looking mani. This is 2 coats over Wet n Wild Black Creme.

I am not sure if Twisted is still available, but if it is, I suggest you grab it before it's too late !

OPI On Collins Ave

Hi everyone,
After the heavy unexpected snowfall we had this week I felt like I needed some color in my life... so I pulled an oldie; OPI On Collins Ave. This was released in 2009 as part of the South Beach collection... back when the names of OPI polishes weren't as pun-y and easier to pronounce (What happened OPI?). Anywho, this polish is creamy, easy to apply and the color is hot, hot, hot :)

I think this color would look best against a tan, and geez, I could really use one right now ! Well, I will be crossing my fingers and hoping that spring will come soon;)
I used Essie Protein Base Coat & Posche Top Coat.

Essie Mint Candy Apple

Mint Candy Apple is a popular Essie nail polish. It is a stunning, one of a kind color that is young & fresh. It's hard to describe- it's kind of like a light mint/blue color. Nothing in my stash even comes close to it!

The only disappointing part is the application- it's one of those polishes you buy for the color and not because it delivers a flawless application. It requires a lot of patience; you need to apply very thin coats & wait until they almost completely dry before applying the subsequent ones to avoid cuticle drag. I would also recommend a thick top coat (something like Sèche Vite) to level everything out. But I promise the results are worth it ! I get so many compliments on this color and I am sure you would too ;)

OPI The one that got away

OPI The one that got way may be one of the prettiest nail polish I have tried in a long time. I can tell you that I head over heels for this color ! It is a beautiful magenta color with lots & lots of pink/fuchsia shimmer. When the light hits my nails at the right angle, I feel like I can spot some blue/purple flecks as well. The pictures just don't do it justice... you really have to see it for yourself !

This polish was part of the OPI Katy Perry collection & it is the only one I purchased. Now I don't know if I missed out on the rest !
Also, Chiki wanted to stop by to say hi :)

Valentine's Day Mani !

Happy Valentine's Day everyone :)
I wanted to do some nail art but glitter is just so much easier. I layered Wet n Wild Prancer over one of my favorite reds, Essie Limited Addiction. I believe Prancer was a limited edition release from last year, but you may still be able to find Limited Addiction. I think the tone on tone is very pretty and festive !

No matter what you are doing today, waiting for a surprise, going out with that someone special or staying in, I hope that you enjoy the day ;)

ASK Cosmetics Oh So Aubergine

Hi everyone :)
Today I have a beautiful, rich creamy polish to show you from ASK Cosmetics. This company just recently ventured into prodcuing nail polishes after releasing a successful line of nail care products. Oh So Aubergine is a very pigmented polish; you can almost get away with on coat, but on the flip side, it is a little bit thick so you have to be careful not to get too much on your brush. I actually decided to add a little bit of thinner to mine to make things easier.
Color wise, it's pretty & perfect for the winter months, but it's probably not the most original. Hopefully they will be releasing more unique shade in the future!
