Essie She's Picture Perfect

After seeing beautiful swatches of Essie She's Picture Perfect, I knew that I needed this polish. I already own Essie Nice is Nice & Lilacism, which are both light purple/lilac colors, but I think She's Picture Perfect is different. It has a light pink shimmer going through it, and it almost looks like a cornflower blue in some lights. It makes me think this is a summer version of Chanel Paradoxal :) Very special ! Moreover, the formula is great. I used 3 coats here, but I think you can get away with 2 if you are careful.

I did my best to try and capture the shimmer on camera...
I highly suggest checking this one out !

Joe Fresh Mint

I think I may have found the *perfect* mint green nail polish... and it's cheap! Joe Fresh Mint delivers little application issues- the first coat might be streaky but the color builds up once you get the to second layer. I find many mint polishes are yellow based, but this one is blue based so it is a lot more flattering (at least on me!). I also received numerous compliments when I wore this ;) I highly suggest it !
The funny thing is that I have had this polish for at least 2 years now, and I haven't tried it until now!

Essie Coat Azure

I am still rummaging through my untrieds and found Essie Coat Azure (released with Spring 2011). This polish has a very nice formula- it is a little bit on the thicker side but you only need 2 coats to make it completely opaque. I also like the shimmer in this polish ! It makes it different from all my other cornflower blues & I think it  can work year round.

Let's see what other untrieds  I can find in my stash !

Essie French Affair

Today I am wearing Essie French Affair from their 2011 Spring Collection. It seems like I keep reviewing polishes from last year, but it's because I am trying to get through all of my untrieds.... which are a lot (eek!).
Anywho, French Affair is a very, very cool toned light pastel pink (think MAC Snob lipstick). It's so pale that it is almost bright, but I had a difficult time capturing this effect in my pictures. The downside is that the application isn't the best. The polish is very streaky if you apply thin coats. Conversely, if you get too much polish on your brush, it will pool your cuticles like crazy. I applied 4 thin coats here and patiently waited for each layer to dry before applying the next one. It was the only way I could avoid bald spots.

I think this is a "cute" polish, but I am not sure if I can get past the application issues.

OPI Guy Meets Gal-veston

I was lucky enough to have found OPI Guy meets Gal-veston on clearance recently, so of course I had to pick it up! This is from OPI's 2011 Texas Collection in which the "sorbet" was introduced to us. It's no secret that "sorbet" is just another word to describe a jelly finish, but I can live with that. The formula is sheer, so you really need several coats if you want the polish to be opaque. I also thinks it works best with a thick, shiny top coat like Seche Vite. I did about 4 coats here.

I really like the color; it's a beautiful coral, and the finish reminds me of Jolly Ranchers !

Essence Choose Me

The weather here is less then desirable today, but I still can’t wait to try on so many new, fun nail polishes for the summer months. I was happy to find out that Pharmaprix (aka Shopper’s Drug Mart) now carries Essence cosmetics here in Canada so I picked up Choose Me. This polish is supposed to be a dupe for Zoya Charla & OPI Catch me in Your Net. The nail polish bottle is tiny but it only retails for $1,49. I don’t mind this at all since it takes forever & ever to finish a regular sized bottle of polish.
Anyway, this is 3 coats. They all went on smoothly !
I love the mermaid-esque look of it !

Chanel June & Essie Shine of the Times

Hi everybody!
I have been on a hiatus for a little while since I was busy with a few projects during the last month. I had the opportunity to travel to the Yucatan area of Mexico I where wore my favourite nail polish of the moment: Chanel June. The colour really came out once I got a tan. I re-swatched the nail polish once I came home to take better pictures of it. I used 4 very thin coats, but you could easily get away with 3 thicker ones. I decided to add Essie Shine of the Times as an accent nail. I was really curious to see how these two would look layered together !
As for the colour, I really love it. It reminds me of Tiger Tail ice cream. It's bright but soft at the same time. I have not seen anything like it, but I am sure dupes are being made as you read this. No regrets here though !

Quick picutre of me in Isla Mujeres!

Hasta Luego for now ;)
